The default scripting language used for writing ASP is VBScript, although you can use other scripting languages like JScript (Microsoft's version of JavaScript).
ASP web pages have the .asp extension rather than .htm - when a page with the extension .asp is requested by a browser the web server knows to interpret any ASP contained within the web page before sending the HTML produced to the browser.
You cannot run an ASP web page by just opening it in a browser, The page must be requested through a web server that supports ASP, this is why ASP stands for Active Server Pages, no server, no active pages.
MySQL is a vendor for the SQL system. There are many vendors for SQL like MS Windows, Oracle etc.. MySQL is the most popular open source database server in existence. On top of that, it is very commonly used in conjunction with PHP scripts to create dynamic and powerful server applications.
A database is a structure that comes in 2 formats: a flat database and a relational database. A relational database is much more oriented to the human mind and is often preferred over the gabble-de-gook flat database. MySQL is a relational database.
